In November 2012, she was honoured with the “PHD Chamber Outstanding Business Woman 2012” Award, as well as the Glory of India Award recently in Dubai for her outstanding innovations in Ayurvedic beauty care. Shahnaz was also conferred the Padma Shri Award by the Government of India for exceptional service towards the country and distinguished achievement in her chosen field.

Shahnaz Husain has the rare honour to be invited twice by US President Barack Obama twice in 2010 for the World Summit on Entrepreneurship that was held first in Washington DC, USA and then again in for the Summit on Entrepreneurship that took place in Mumbai.
Shahnaz Husain’s contribution towards woman empowerment is also noteworthy. Very early in her career, she encouraged ordinary housewives to open salons in their own homes, training them in beauty and offering the Shahnaz Herbal name. This provided them the opportunity to embark on a career and attain financial independence. She is also the pioneer of vocational training in beauty in India. More than 40 years ago, when only apprenticeship training was available, Shahnaz started her beauty institute, to provide comprehensive training in beauty.
