The Koncherry group was established in 1929 by P.K.Velu in Cherthala town of Alleppey district - the hub center for the world trade in coir and coir products. In 1947, his son C.V.Susheelan inherited the business from his father and started exports of value added products from coir to Western Europe and U.S.A.
