If you have Bleeding Piles, Anal Fissures, Fistula & Hemorrhoids then you are not alone every second person is affected by it, be it a person travelling in the train or a person sitting in the office or a house wife working at home.

Bleeding Piles, Anal Fissures, Fistula & Hemorrhoids are caused by increased pressure on the blood vessels in your bottom. These blood vessels stretch and swell, and before you know it, you have got one or several symptoms, including itchiness, pain and maybe even bleeding. Ouch.

Wondering what may cause this increased pressure? :

Constipation: Never fun, is it. Worse, the straining creates pressure in all the wrong places. What can you do? Try upping your intake of fresh fruit. More fibre will keep things moving as they should.

Closely related: spending too much time on the toilet, and holding it in when you have to go.

Pregnancy and childbirth: The extra weight of that lovely bump and the constipation that often comes with pregnancy can put a lot of pressure on your lower organs. Not to mention all that pushing during labour.

Lifting heavy loads: Whether its hitting the weights at the gym, hoisting your toddler about or moving boxes at work, you want to take care and avoid putting undue strain on those delicate tissues.

Being overweight: If you are carrying too many pounds, you are putting your abdomen under unnecessary strain. Combine that with a poor diet and you have got a recipe for Piles.

                                                                                   Piles Prevention

If you have Piles, you would be keen to keep them at bay. And the good news is that a few simple changes can make all the difference.

It is all about keeping unnecessary pressure off your abdomen.

Eat lots of high-fibre food to keep things moving as they should. Bump up your brown rice, wholemeal bread, vegetable and fruit intake, and minimise the things that bind you up, especially refined and processed foods like cakes and biscuits.

Drink plenty of fluids, especially water and fruit juices. But cut back on the coffee and alcohol - they can dehydrate you, and next thing you know, you are constipated and straining in the loo.

It may sound silly, but go to the toilet whenever you need to. Shy at work? Get over it! The alternative is much less pleasant.

Save the reading for the sofa. Sitting in the loo for too long with much of your body weight bearing down on your bum is the kind of pressure you want to avoid.

                                                                                              Types of Piles

                                                                                 Dry Piles

In dry Piles there is inflammation of the external Piles, accompanied by continuous pain and becomes unbearable while emptying the bowels.

Piles are either dry or bleeding and often caused by chronic constipation, hard and knotty slots, intake of spices, wines, meats and also by poor or absent physical activity. Dry Piles is more painful, while bleeding Piles render a person weaker. Pregnant ladies, elderly persons, sedentary persons who eat enormously and quite often but do no exercise, or the person taking above-mentioned dietary items, are more prone to Piles. Persistent complaints may cause other complications also, such as fissures, cancerous growths, pain, swelling, smarting etc.

                                                                                 Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids (US English) or Hemorrhoids are vascular structures in the anal canal which help with stool control. They become pathological or Piles when swollen or inflamed. In their physiological state they act as a cushion composed of arterio-venous channels and connective tissue that aid the passage of stool. The symptoms of pathological Hemorrhoids depend on the type present. Internal Hemorrhoids usually present with painless rectal bleeding while external Hemorrhoids present with pain in the area of the anus.

                                                                       ANAL FISTULA

Anal fistula, or fistula-in-ano, is an abnormal connection between the epithelialised surface of the anal canal and (usually) the perianal skin.

Anal fistulae originate from the anal glands, which are located between the two layers of the anal sphincters and which drain into the anal canal. If the outlet of these glands becomes blocked, an abscess can form which can eventually point to the skin surface. The tract formed by this process is the fistula.

Abscesses can recur if the fistula seals over, allowing the accumulation of pus. It then points to the surface again, and the process repeats.

Anal fistulas per se do not generally harm, but can be very painful, and can be irritating because of the pus-drain (it is also possible for formed stools to be passed through the fistula); additionally, recurrent abscesses may lead to significant short term morbidity from pain, and create a nidus for systemic spread of infection.

                                                                             Anal Fissure

An anal fissure is a small tear in the lining of the anal canal. This type of tear may develop in adults from passing hard or large stools during bowel movements. Anal fissure is also common in infants between 6 and 24 months. Anal fissures are less likely to develop in older children.

An anal fissure may cause you to experience pain and bleeding. Anal fissures that fail to heal may become chronic and cause considerable discomfort.
