Thousands of people in India are engaged in the creation of variety of beautiful conventional fabric. Hand woven and Hand printed fabric assume greater importance in this context. Soochi, a partnership firm located at Kalkere Village of East Bangalore has an aspiration to work on this vibrant area and has initiated the production and marketing of womens’ clothing line under the brand name “SOOCHIRANG”. The key features of this project are,
- Around 40 Men and women from marginalized families are engaged in this project
- Selected participants are given skill and expertise in making womens’ clothing. They are enrolled in to this project profitably. They are even allowed to work from their homes at their convenience
- Fabric and other materials required for the project is procured from authentic Desi sources including certified Khadi Institutions across India respecting their traditional intrinsic values
- Eventually the entrprise visualizes the Benefits of commercial activity flowing on to the people engaged and they becoming self reliant by way of ownership
